As a Calibration Technician, you will be part of the maintenance and engineering team to deliver high-quality calibration services within a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) facility. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of instrumentation and control systems to support critical production equipment and regulatory compliance.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of instruments and control systems (e.g., bioreactors, sterilizers, filling equipment) to ensure operational accuracy and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate calibration schedules with internal stakeholders and external vendors, ensuring all work complies with industry standards and Elanco’s corporate calibration programs.
  • Maintain meticulous calibration records and documentation in strict accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Quality Assurance guidelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements, support new machinery installations, and serve as a key administrator for the Building Management System (BMS).
  • Adhere to all occupational safety and health programs, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), confined space, and fall protection, while operating equipment such as forklifts and personnel lifts.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in calibration or instrumentation within a technical or manufacturing environment.
  • Top 2 skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task in a fast-paced team environment.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or a highly regulated industry with a focus on GMP manufacturing maintenance and documentation.
  • Proficiency in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) troubleshooting, programming, and wiring.
  • Previous industrial plant safety training and experience utilizing a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Technical expertise in supporting specialized equipment such as tanks, mixers, pumps, and solids processing machinery.
  • Autonomous self-starter with a proven track record of working effectively within a collaborative team.
