Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious CDL Class A Driver to join our local fleet. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of commercial driving experience, including a minimum of 1 year of local CDL A experience. This role is critical to our operations, requiring the safe transportation of hazardous materials in compliance with all DOT and federal regulations. We pride ourselves on our strong safety culture and are looking for a driver with an impeccable record to match.

 

Safe Operation: Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer to transport freight and hazardous materials to local customer sites.

 

Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, especially regarding HazMat handling and transport.

 

Pre/Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough daily inspections of the tractor, trailer, and safety equipment to ensure roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.

 

Cargo Management: Properly load, unload, and secure hazardous materials, ensuring correct weight distribution and the use of required placarding.

 

Documentation: Maintain accurate logs ,shipping papers, and delivery receipts.

 

Customer Service: Act as a professional representative of the company when interacting with clients and site managers.

 

Minimum Qualifications

License: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

 

Endorsements: Current Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement required

 

Experience: * Minimum of 2+ years of verifiable CDL Class A driving experience.

 

Minimum of 1 year of recent local driving experience.

 

Safety Record: A clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.

 

Physical Standards: Must possess a current DOT Medical Card and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check (including TSA security threat assessment for HazMat).

 

Skills: Strong knowledge of safe driving practices in high-traffic local environments and proficiency in using ELDs.

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

 

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

 

Willingness to work in various weather conditions.

 

Frequent climbing in/out of the cab and trailer.
