About this role
Overview
As a Cloud Architect, you will work within our growing DevSecOps practice delivering features to support cloud migration, cloud optimization and cloud deployment. We are looking for candidates with 8-10 years experience with cloud platform services and DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code and confirmation management automation.
Contributions
Responsibilities include:Â
- Identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the customerÂ
- Design cloud environmentsâŻand demonstrate technical cloud architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, staging, QA, and development of cloud infrastructures running in 24Ă7 environmentsÂ
- Implement and oversee cloud strategies includeâŻmigrations andâŻoptimizationÂ
- EstablishingâŻdevelopment tools and infrastructure for automationÂ
- Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developersÂ
- Automate and improve development, testing, deployment,âŻand release processesÂ
- Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing resultsÂ
- Perform root cause analysis on complex business processes and technical components
- Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threatsÂ
- Identifying technical problems, performing root cause analysis, and developing software updates and âfixesâÂ
- Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intendedÂ
- SupportâŻenterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure throughâŻinfrastructure as code including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing, such as CI/CDâŻÂ
- Document as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendationsâŻÂ
- Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systemsÂ
- Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team membersÂ
- Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services providedÂ
- Present regular status updates and provide cross training to other team members.Â

Qualifications
Required:Â
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security ClearanceÂ
- BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experienceÂ
- 8 Years of Experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions Â
- 8 Years of Experience with one or more clouds (i.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP)Â
- 8 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, BitbucketÂ
- 8 Years of Experience with systems development in an Agile environmentÂ
- 8 Years of Experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestrationÂ
- 8 Years of Experience integrating deployments with industry standard DevSecOps tooling and orchestrationÂ
- 5 Years of Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analyticsÂ
- Local to the Atlanta metro area
- Required to be onsite 2x per week

- AWS Certified DevOps EngineerÂ
- AWS Certified Solution Architect ProfessionalÂ
- Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer ExpertÂ
- Microsoft Certified Solution Architect ExpertÂ
- SAFe DevOps CertificationÂ
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skillsÂ
- Experience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations preferredÂ
- Experience with scripting in Concourse, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or RubyÂ
- Experience implementing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as KubernetesÂ
- Experience with automation tools, including Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or AnsibleÂ

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $130,000 to $215,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
