About the RoleÂ
We’re looking for a People & Culture Co-Op Student to join our People & Culture team. This position will be reporting to the People Operations Specialist, and is for the September 2026 - December 2026 co-op term.
What You’ll DoÂ
- Performance & Development – Shadow leader conversations where the P&C Business Partner is rolling out the skills matrix, partner with a leader and P&C Business Partner to assist with developing the matrix for their team, and track participation in any training initiativesÂ
- Engagement & Retention – Assist with eNPS coordination and results compilation, assist with the CSR Committee (MS Cares Q4 initiative, fundraisers, and planning for 2027), and update the P&C slides for Town HallsÂ
- Talent Acquisition – Create job postings, review applications, shadow phone screens, and assist with rolling out the co-op program for 2027Â
- People Analytics & Reporting – Ensure data is traced accurately in HRIS (BambooHR) and learn how metrics are used in decision makingÂ
- Onboarding & Offboarding – Assist with onboarding preparation, shadow first day orientations, shadow exit interviews, and coordinate checklists and tracking for employee existsÂ
- Miscellaneous Administrative Tasks – Assist with data entry in various P&C-related systems and employee handbook policy creation & updatesÂ
You’ll Also Work on the Following Projects:Â
- Employee resource group creation (approximately 15 hours to complete)Â
- People and Culture Moments Calendar with campaign plans - Build an annual calendar of key cultural and awareness dates with a brief activation plan for each, including internal & external communications (approximately 30 hours to complete)Â
- BambooHR file migration and data clean-up (approximately 80 hours to complete)Â
What You BringÂ
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program with a Canadian institution in Business, Administration, Human Resources, or related fieldÂ
- Experience with digital productivity tools (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or similar)Â
- Experience using a Human Resource Information System (BambooHR preferred)Â
- Familiarity with compliance and training platforms, such as EasyLlama, Udemy, or similarÂ
- Clear and concise communication skills with the ability to convey ideas effectively in both written and verbal formÂ
- Active listening skills, demonstrating attention to stakeholder needs, the ability to ask clarifying questions, and confirm understanding before actingÂ
- The ability to build relationships across different business functions and show a team-oriented attitudeÂ
- Demonstrates proactive communication by identifying and raising issues early, providing regular progress updates, and confidently escalating blockers when neededÂ
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environmentÂ
Compensation: $21.67 – $31.53 CAD per hour (as determined by work term)Â
This role requires working onsite in our Cambridge office (96 Grand Ave S Unit 101, Cambridge, ON N1S 2L9) two days per week.Â
