About this role

Overview

Amyx is seeking an experienced CWMD Policy Analyst to support the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Advisory & Assistance Services (A&AS) contract. This role provides policy analysis, strategic advisory support, and coordination assistance to CWMD leadership and successor organizations during a period of significant mission and organizational transition.

 

The Policy Analyst will support development, analysis, and execution of CWMD‑related policies, frameworks, and guidance, with emphasis on CBRN risk, interagency coordination, and alignment with DHS and CISA governance structures. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in fluid policy environments, translating complex missions into actionable policy products for senior decision‑makers.

Responsibilities

CWMD Policy Development & Analysis

*Conduct research and analysis to support CWMD, CBRN, and nuclear‑related policy development, updates, and implementation.*Analyze existing DHS, CWMD, and interagency policies to identify gaps, overlaps, and alignment opportunities.*Support development of policy memoranda, white papers, briefing materials, and decision papers for CWMD and DHS leadership.

Strategic Advisory & Governance Support*Provide advisory support to CWMD leadership on policy implications of mission changes, budget constraints, and organizational realignment.*Support policy oversight activities as CWMD functions transition to or coordinate with CISA, CBP, TSA, and other DHS components. *Assist in maintaining policy continuity during restructuring, ensuring mission requirements remain supported.

Interagency & Stakeholder Coordination*Support coordination with DHS components, interagency partners, and external stakeholders on CWMD policy matters.*Prepare materials and talking points for interagency working groups, governance boards, and executive forums.*Track actions, policy decisions, and follow‑ups to resolution.

Programmatic & A&AS Support*Support A&AS reporting requirements, including inputs to monthly status reports, quarterly reviews, and executive briefings.*Assist in documenting policy‑related risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.*Apply structured approaches to policy analysis to ensure consistency, traceability, and defensibility.

Process Improvement & Change Management*Support development of policy frameworks and playbooks that improve execution efficiency under cost‑sensitive, LPTA‑oriented environments.

Qualifications

*7+ years of experience in policy analysis, strategic planning, or advisory support within a federal, homeland security, or national security environment.*Experience supporting CWMD, CBRN, nuclear security, intelligence, homeland security, or related mission areas.*Demonstrated ability to produce clear, well‑structured policy products for senior Government audiences.*Familiarity with DHS governance, policy development processes, and interagency coordination.*Strong research, writing, and briefing skills.Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred) in public policy, national security, international relations, political science, or a related field.

 

*Prior experience supporting DHS CWMD, CISA, CBP, TSA, or another DHS Headquarters organization.*Experience supporting policy work during organizational restructuring or mission realignment.*Understanding of CWMD policy issues across CBRN, nuclear, intelligence, and risk management domains.*Experience supporting A&AS contracts and performance‑based advisory services.* DHS Suitability, Active Secret or higher clearance.
