Primary duties focus on performing installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment at a government facility.  Performs maintenance, repair and modification of interior and exterior electrical wiring, exterior high voltage/low voltage electrical circuits/systems, and equipment associated with electrical components throughout the facilities assigned. Â
Wage: $36.21/hr, $5.09 of H&W
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Performs repair, overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of commercial and industrial electrical/electronic systems, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipmentÂ
- Testing, installation, repair, and maintenance of a variety of electrical equipment, such as generators, ATS, UPS, transformers, switchboards, controllers, door operators, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, IR scans or other transmission equipmentÂ
- Performs fire alarm system and/or call systems testing and maintenanceÂ
- Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces and the workshopÂ
- Assist maintenance teamsÂ
- Solely identify and resolve failures/alarms related to critical building equipment.Â
- Performs other duties as assignedÂ

Required Skills/Abilities: Â
- Must have the skill and knowledge to use all hand and power tools, test equipment and shop machines, aerial booms, and shop machines utilized by the craftÂ
- Knowledgeable and skilled in maintaining and repairing exterior and interior electrical wiring and componentsÂ
- All appropriate safety practices for working with hand and power tools.Â
- Read and comprehend schematics, blueprints, and shop drawingsÂ
- Communicate verbally and in writingÂ
- Ability to troubleshoot systems using electronics, computers, and software systemsÂ
- Use of computers for checking email, data entry on CMMS, and trainingÂ

Education and Experience: Â
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalencyÂ
- Five (5) years of experience shall be associated with commercial facilities Â
- journeyman electricians license or hired required
Â
Physical Requirements: Â
- Possible exposure to hazardous materials, requiring use of respirators and personal protective safety attire and equipmentÂ
- Lifting and carrying varies dependent on location of equipment up to 30-40ft heightÂ
- Ability to push 50 pounds (maintenance equipment); ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds (supplies and equipment)Â
- Possible exposure to hazardous materials, requiring use of respirators and personal protective safety attire and equipmentÂ
- May require entering confined spaces such as ductwork, pits, and crawl spacesÂ
- Attendance is required to be successful in this positionÂ

- Must be able to successfully pass as required a federal, state, or local government's background investigationÂ
