Role Overview:

  • The CHAOS Marketing team is looking for aĀ foundationalĀ team member toĀ lead and scaleĀ theĀ eventsĀ function at a fast-growing defense tech company.Ā 
  • This is a unique opportunity forĀ someoneĀ whoĀ will own the planning and execution of conferences, industry events, VIP visits, customer demonstrations, and internal events.Ā 
  • As an EventsĀ Manager at CHAOS, you willĀ operateĀ with precision in secure environments, manage complexĀ logisticsĀ around sensitive programs, and create exceptional experiences that reflect the caliber of innovation happening withinĀ theĀ Marketing team, as well as within the broader CHAOS organization.Ā 
  • This role is critical toĀ shapeĀ how CHAOS implements its events strategy, which is tied toĀ branding, marketing,Ā businessĀ development, culture, and employee engagement.Ā 

Responsibilities:Ā 

  • Events ManagementĀ 
    • Serve as the primary events resource and point of contact (POC)Ā 
    • Coordinate logistics forĀ customer visits, including facility tours and field demonstrations, technical demonstrations, classified and unclassified briefings, and hospitalityĀ 
    • Coordinate planning and execution for external conferences, such as the annual Association of the US Army (AUSA) Conference or Dubai Air Show
    • SupportĀ government customer engagements, media visits, and stakeholder meetingsĀ 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Growth Strategy to integrate events into Growth campaigns targeting revenue opportunitiesĀ 
    • Coordinate with CHAOS Engineering teams to understand technical constraints and requirements for customer-facing events, and to design exhibits for conferencesĀ 
    • Partner with Mission Operations, Business Development, Operations, IT, Facilities, Security, company leadership, and other teams to ensure seamless experiences and executionĀ 
  • Operational Excellence
    • Establish and build relationships with preferred vendors, agencies, and partners;Ā help create streamlined processes and proceduresĀ 
    • Ensure vendor quotes areĀ accurateĀ andĀ maintainĀ detailed budgets for all eventsĀ 
    • Travel onsite as needed for pack-out, load-in, production, day-of coordination, and load-outĀ 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in corporate event planningĀ 
  • Strong project management skills and creative problem-solving orientation with the ability to execute in complex, fast-paced environmentsĀ 
  • Deadline and detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilitiesĀ 
  • Ability to work well in teams and autonomously, taking ownership of projects from concept to completionĀ 
  • Ability to visualize event space flow, guest experience, presenter experience, food presentation,Ā appropriate soundĀ levels, and overall atmosphereĀ 
  • Strong ability toĀ adaptĀ andĀ shift priorities quickly when neededĀ 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and communication platforms like SlackĀ 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to required access to U.S.Ā export controlledĀ information or facilitiesĀ 
  • Ability to obtain andĀ maintainĀ a security clearanceĀ 
  • Work in-office in Washington, DCĀ 
  • Ability to travelĀ domestically and internationallyĀ ~10%Ā

Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000

The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base compensation range and excludes additional earnings such as bonus, equity, and benefits.
