About this Role
Flare Construction, LLC is seeking a Field Safety Representative to support field operations across our civil and gas divisions on projects throughout the western United States. This role begins with a multi-month assignment supporting civil construction operations in the Las Vegas, NV area, with the expectation of continued project-to-project deployment across the West as work demands in both divisions. Between project assignments, this position will be based out of our operations area near Coalville, UT, contributing to safety department functions at the home office level.
This is a long-term opportunity for a safety professional looking to grow with a company across multiple disciplines — not just fill a single project seat. The right candidate will thrive in a project-cycle model: extended field deployment followed by periodic home-based periods, with the flexibility to redeploy as new projects are awarded.

- Support civil and gas division project operations — including transmission line, substation, pipeline, and distribution construction — with initial assignment to an active civil project in the Las Vegas, NV area.
- Assist the Safety Manager with day-to-day field safety operations on various jobsites as assigned and monitor site operations for unsafe work practices.
- Train and monitor field staff working on project sites; address safety concerns and enforce company safety, DOT/PHMSA, DOT/FMCSA, and risk management policies.
- Inspect job sites for compliance with OSHA, DOT/PHMSA, DOT/FMCSA, and Company/client requirements.
- Conduct Job Hazard Analysis assessments, partnering with project leadership to develop a process to anticipate, identify, evaluate, and correct hazardous conditions and practices.
- Facilitate Company and client safety program(s) and perform weekly safety audits, utilizing Quanta Services’ safety guidelines illustrated in The Capacity Model to teach continuous improvement.
- Perform on-site employee safety orientations and training; coordinate and contribute to weekly safety meetings for the Company’s field staff.
- Collect, maintain, and track safety documentation from field staff; strongly encourage the use of electronic methods of record keeping and keep current with the latest applicable technology and techniques.
- Proactively assist the safety department with accident prevention, reporting, and the incident investigation process.
- Immediately intervene, execute, and support Stop Work Authority when a safety violation or unmitigated hazardous condition(s) is/are present.
- Manage inventory and distribution of on-site Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and monitor its appropriate use.
- Contribute to home-office safety department functions during inter-project periods, including documentation, training preparation, and compliance tracking.
- Other duties as assigned by the Safety Manager.
