HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATORS
About this role
Summary: Proficiently operate a variety of heavy equipment utilized in the construction, maintenance, and repair of roads, highways, parking lots, and other large site jobs.
Essential Functions:
- Drive and operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site, or highway construction and paving.
- Operate assigned equipment following our daily procedures and protocols, or as instructed by supervisor:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Pefer defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
- Maintain equipment clean.
- Assist the team and perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy/roads/highway/ residential/ commercial construction project
- Assist with MOT (installation & maintenance of traffic control devices at work sites, by flagging to guide traffic through work areas, as required or assigned).
- Follow OSHA safety procedures and company safety guidelines.
Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and a minimum of three years of driving experience with a clean driving history
- Valid Driver’s License
- At least three years' experience in Road Construction (preferred).
- Knowledge of heavy-equipment operating principles
- Drive and operate equipment under varying working conditions.
- Perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to work from construction specifications or blueprints.
- Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operation, as well as methods, materials, and tools used in street and road construction work.
