Cougar Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical provides expert heating service and support to residential customers throughout the greater Hayden, Idaho area. Ensure homeowners stay comfortable during harsh winter conditions by performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and service on gas and electric furnaces as well as other heating systems. We are seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, with the ability to perform diagnostics, repairs, and installations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and efficiently while ensuring high standards of service and safety.   

  

Responsibilities  

  

  • Service, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units and other related equipment.  
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using various tools and diagnostic equipment.  
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.  
  • Respond to residential service calls and perform thorough diagnostics on HVAC issues  
  • Explain problems, repair options and recommendations clearly to homeowners including cost estimates and proposals  
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, local codes and maintain a clean work environment 

  

Qualifications  

  

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in residential HVAC service preferred    
  • Strong knowledge of air conditioning and heating systems 
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.  
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.

Pay Transparency:    

The starting rate for this opportunity ranges from $65K-$120K/annually. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Other rewards may include incentive plan opportunities and annual bonus eligibility. We provide a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO). A candidate’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions. Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate for this position. It assumes a rate based on location and experience.  

  

Physical Demands: 

  

  • Stand/Sit: Must be able to remain in stationary position 50% of the time. 
  • May be required to bend, climb (Stairs/Ladders), do repetitive motion, kneel, reach, squat, stand, crawl, walk, and run 
  • May be required to drive and sit for long periods of time 
  • Must be able to maneuver up to 75 lb. by lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling. 
  • May be required to work in outdoor weather conditions.
