The Opportunity
Good Inside is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer. You’ll have a massive impact helping hundreds of thousands of parents discover life-changing solutions to their deepest issues. In this role, you’ll work to rapidly experiment and build features that drive user acquisition.
This role is a hybrid position with three days a week in our Manhattan office.
What You’ll Own
- The design, development and maintenance of all backend services as well as our Backend for Frontend abstraction layer
- Connecting and maintaining any 3rd party services that are essential to our business
- Act as a resource for other engineers, as well as product managers regarding all things backend
- Collaborating with frontend engineers on how to best serve and visualize data
- Writing and distributing clear documentation regarding architectural choices and processes
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology in backend development, with a focus on scalability, and apply this knowledge to tackle complex problems in innovative ways.
- Facilitate effective communication between the development team and other departments.
Your Skills & Experience
- You have a Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
- You have 5+ years of development experience with a focus on performance, scalability and observability.
- You have 3 to 5 years of experience writing code in Python
- You have experience with frameworks like FastAPI, Flask and Django
- Previous experience with data engineering is a big plus
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels within the organization
- Python, FastAPI & SQLAlchemy experience (bonus, but not required).
- Familiarity with Dart & Flutter (our mobile app tech stack).
- Contributions to open source or public tech talks/blog posts.
- Prior mentorship or interview experience.
