Role Overview

The Autonomous Vehicle Integration & Validation Intern will support the engineering team in improving autonomous vehicle system integration, configuration, and troubleshooting processes.

The intern will assist in developing internal automation tools that help engineers configure components and diagnose issues based on vehicle and AV system error codes. The role also includes supporting AV kit preparation, quality checks, and system validation activities.

This internship offers hands-on experience working with autonomous vehicle hardware systems, software automation tools, and real-world system validation.

Role Responsibilities

Automation Tool Development

  • Assist engineers in developing automation tools and software utilities to support AV system integration and configuration

  • Help test and validate the usability and intuitiveness of internal tools used by engineering teams

  • Identify bugs or issues during testing and provide feedback to improve functionality

  • Support rapid development cycles by helping engineers test and validate new features

AV Kit Preparation & Quality Control

  • Assist in component preparation and configuration for AV kit assembly

  • Support quality control (QC) checks to ensure components are correctly configured before installation

  • Help document setup procedures and configuration steps

System Integration & Validation

  • Support system validation and testing of autonomous vehicle components and subsystems

  • Assist engineers in diagnosing system issues using logs, error codes, and testing results

  • Help record validation results and troubleshooting findings

Required Experience

Education

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:

    • Robotics

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Electrical Engineering

    • Computer Engineering

    • Computer Science

    • Mechatronics

    • Or related technical field

Technical Skills

  • Basic programming experience in Python, C++, or scripting languages

  • Interest in:

    • Automation tools

    • Robotics systems

    • Vehicle systems

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., coding assistants) is a plus

Personal Skills

  • Strong problem-solving mindset

  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a hands-on engineering environment

  • Comfortable working with both software and hardware systems

  • Good communication and teamwork skills
