  • Overview:

    Motive is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contract Manufacturing Manager (CM Manager) to lead the strategic CM/JDM relationship. The CM Manager will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery, optimizing costs, mitigating risks, and being a key contributor to the overall supply chain strategy. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of success in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high degree of ownership, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive significant impact.

    Responsibilities:

    • Strategic CM/JDM Management
      • Demonstrate deep and/or broad expertise in supply chain management, acting as a subject matter expert in the CM/JDM management.
      • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to optimize delivery, quality, and cost while mitigating potential risks, for key CM/JDM partners.
      • Build and maintain strong relationships with CM/JDM partners at both the working and executive levels.
      • Manage supplier contracts, including periodic reviews and renegotiations to ensure favorable terms for Motive.
      • Conduct regular business reviews (QBRs) with suppliers, including quarterly metrics reviews and bi-annual strategic alignment meetings.
      • Manage and resolve supplier-related issues and escalations effectively and timely.
      • Hold suppliers accountable for contractual agreements and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery.
      • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure long-term strategic alignment in both products and technologies.
    • New Product Introduction (NPI):
      • Build strong cross-functional relationships to enable NPI projects from concept to EOL.
      • Lead the RFP negotiation and facilitate a cross-functional, data-driven and objective supplier selection process.
      • Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, including NRE, sample costs, production costs, Capex, reliability testing, certification testing, and other related expenses.
      • Support NPI efforts to ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations. Manage escalations during NPI as needed.
      • Ensure appropriate capacity is in place to support business volume.
    • Operations Management:
      • Ensure suppliers understand Motive's forecasts and orders and deliver accordingly.
      • Review supply commitments weekly and resolve material shortages, capacity constraints, and other delivery issues. Develop forward looking strategies to ensure material and capacity availability.
      • Manage purchase orders and update supply plans in Motive's ERP system.
      • Collaborate with planning to optimize air/ocean shipments for product availability and cost-effectiveness.
      • Collaborate with quality and testing engineering teams to ensure the product quality complies with Motive’s specifications and requirements.
      • Develop strategies with CM/JDM to reduce lead times and overall liability.
    • Cost Optimization:
      • Understand the cost model at the CM/JDM, including BOM and MVA breakdowns, to ensure cost reasonableness and favorability.
      • Identify cost reduction opportunities and develop and execute cost optimization roadmaps in collaboration with internal teams (product, engineering, commodity management) and suppliers.
      • Coordinate post-ramp qualification efforts to qualify second sources, increase production capacity, and improve product design.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
    • 8+ years of experience in supply chain management, contract manufacturing, or a related field, preferably in the consumer electronics industry.
    • Proven experience in managing CM/JDM in related industries.
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost structures, and supply chain dynamics.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
    • Proactive and self-driven, with a strong sense of ownership. Possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues independently.

    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems and Google Docs/Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
    • Experience working in a global environment.
