  • Enjoy solving mechanical challenges and working with your hands every day.

  • Thrive in environments where no two projects look the same — mills, plants, shops, fabrications, and field installations.

  • Are comfortable working independently but enjoy collaborating with engineers, machinists, fabricators, and project teams.

  • Are safety-focused, reliable, and committed to doing quality work the first time.

  • Want to grow from L1 to L5 through training, hands-on experience, and increasing responsibility.

  • Are energized by being part of a company rebuilding American manufacturing.

If this sounds like you, Optimation offers a long-term home to grow your millwright career.

What you will do

(Responsibilities increase as you progress from L1 to L5)

  • Install machinery and equipment using layout plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

  • Dismantle, move, assemble, and install machinery using hoists, dollies, lifts, rollers, and rigging equipment.

  • Precisely align machinery (shafts, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, mechanical systems) using micrometers, squares, optical alignment tools, plumb bobs, rules, and other precision instruments.

  • Bolt, weld, rivet, and fasten components to foundations or supporting structures.

  • Operate lathes, mills, and other shop machining equipment as needed.

  • Perform rigging and crane work safely and efficiently; advanced rigging is a plus.

  • Assist in mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance activities.

  • Maintain awareness of construction and industrial site hazards; follow OSHA and company safety standards.

  • Display a high level of craftsmanship and strong work ethic in all tasks.

What you will bring to the team

  • Physically capable of climbing, lifting heavy objects, working from heights, and entering confined spaces.

  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and outdoor environments in all weather conditions.

  • Ability to read and write in English and understand mechanical drawings.

  • Basic computer and communication skills.

  • Regular full-time availability, working a 40-hour day schedule.

  • Willingness to work overtime or flexible hours as required.

  • Experience working as a millwright, mechanic, or industrial installer is helpful; advanced roles (L4–L5) require demonstrated mastery.

Compensation Range: Hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $27.00 to $55.00 based on education and years of experience. This role is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan and long term incentive plan.
