Team Description:

Implant technology and our ability to manufacture high-quality implants in volume at low cost are at the core of creating the future of brain-computer interfaces. The Brain Interfaces Mechanical Engineering Team is responsible for the design, build, and testing of all mechanical systems in our implant and charger. 

Job Description & Responsibilities:

As a Manufacturing Technician, you will be responsible for manufacturing our implants and accessories. The implanted device contains micron-scale electrode threads and an electronics assembly containing the battery, chips, and circuit boards. You will be engaged with many day-to-day responsibilities, including flip-chip bonding, part cleaning and preparation, electronics potting, mounting implants to the surgical mechanisms, as well as component and assembly-level testing of the electronics. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Perform mechanical/electrical assembly of implant and charger components, subassemblies, and integration of final assemblies
  • Build small implant subassemblies involving custom micron-scale electrode arrays and SoC with high precision
  • Operate equipment, such as flip-chip bonders and laser welders
  • Execute equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Package final products for delivery
  • Maintain parts inventory
  • Run functional testing of built hardware, including setup, instrumentation, and test execution
  • Ensure product quality and conformance to design requirements
  • Keep a clean, organized, and thoroughly maintained workspace

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable; no task is too big or too small
  • Strong self-discipline and integrity
  • Ability to work reliably with small and delicate components where precision is critical
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Ability to follow strict SOPs, safety protocols and quality standards
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and constantly changing environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Basic familiarity with Google Suite (e.g., documents, spreadsheets, presentations)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings and work instructions
  • Experience with small and delicate assemblies where precision is critical
  • Demonstrated ability to visually detect defects and repair them in a fast-paced environment, and report them when necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to use electronic tools and basic software to document, communicate, identify, and resolve quality issues and defects

Additional Requirements: 

  • Ability to work within a cleanroom, including adhering to gowning and PPE requirements (e.g., masks) and spending long periods standing and walking
  • Ability to lift and transfer up to 25 pounds
  • Willing to work extended hours and weekends, as needed

Pay Transparency:

At Neuralink, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. The anticipated hourly rate for this position is expected to be within the below range. Your actual base pay will be determined by your job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Hourly Rate:
$25/hr - $31/hr
