The Radiations Effects Scientist for our Products business line is responsible for supporting electronics and opto-electronics products and new designs across the Voyager enterprise.

The position reports to the VP of Product Design and is part of the Engineering department based in San Diego, CA. This role is fully onsite.

In this role, the essential functions are:

  • Formulate and document radiation hardness requirements for space systems. Develop technical documents for requirements and verification.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support radiation testing, hardness assurance and error rate prediction for space systems.
  • Build, lead, and maintain multi-disciplinary teams to execute radiation test campaigns.
  • Participate in internal and customer design reviews.

  • Minimum: BS in Physics or electrical engineering with 4 years or more of relevant experience, MS or Ph.D. with relevant research or work experience.
  • Solid understanding of radiation effects on electronic and optoelectronic parts.
  • Direct working knowledge or demonstrated capacity to perform radiation effects testing of electronic parts.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience with satellite industry highly desirable

The good faith base salary range for this role is $165,000-$205,000 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
