Your Responsibilities as a Construction Technician 1:
- Perform field labor related to the maintenance and repair of stormwater infrastructure systems.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and light construction equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform vegetation management and site maintenance activities using string trimmers (weed eaters), brush cutters, and similar equipment.
- Support erosion and sediment control installation and maintenance activities.
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Document daily activities, field observations, and completed work.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Participate in training opportunities to develop construction and technical skills.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Actively pursue professional growth and career development opportunities.
What we're looking for:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One to two years of construction, landscaping, grounds maintenance, or related field experience preferred.
- Experience safely operating string trimmers (weed eaters) is required.
- Experience operating skid steers is a plus.
- Experience with stormwater infrastructure maintenance, erosion control, drainage systems, or related construction activities is preferred.
- Knowledge of sediment and erosion control practices is preferred.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Comfortable operating pickups and towing equipment trailers.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Strong commitment to safety and OSHA-compliant work practices.
- Willingness to learn new skills, accept direction, and work as part of a team.
