About this role

A24 is seeking a Business Development & Operations Lead to join the Brand team. The person in this role will be an integral part of a highly brand-oriented and creative team– responsible for managing and growing a set of businesses within our broader consumer products and brand ecosystem, while helping identify and build new ones. This is an entrepreneurial, numbers-driven, and execution-oriented role. This role can be based in our New York or West Hollywood office.

Ideal candidates have experience seeing through business lines end-to-end, with a strong foundation in financial modeling and operational planning. They can be both hands-on and strategic. Experience in consumer products, retail, publishing, or entertainment is a plus.

Initial Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the brand leadership team to identify new strategic areas of growth for the business
  • Craft smart strategic and operational plans, modeling goals for new initiatives and outlining potential operational pathways
  • Identify ways to grow and expand our consumer product initiatives across retail, licensing, and beyond
  • Forge strategic brand partnerships (managing both all incoming and leading proactive efforts) with relevant brands and partners, then effectively manage those relationships over time
  • Set revenue-centric business goals and regularly track and report on progress; own internal reporting structures and deliver consistent visibility to leadership across business lines
  • Build internal presentations to align stakeholders and drive decision-making. Focus on the operational health and growth of our existing businesses
  • Build and maintain financial models across business lines, tracking performance and informing key decisions
  • Source and manage external consultants where strategic work falls outside the team's current capabilities
  • Take full ownership of initiatives from concept through execution, acting as the operational owner behind each
  • Manage internal stakeholders across the company to get alignment, organize efforts and execute on strategic plans
  • Conduct market research where relevant
  • Always be thinking about how we can grow and expand upon our existing businesses and into new ones, in a way that both increases our business potential but also strengthens our brand perception

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years relevant experience: in business consulting, new business growth, or special projects
  • Passionate and enthusiastic about work - self-motivated at the core
  • Ideal candidates have experience with commerce business, retail & licensing, publishing, and/or subscription businesses on behalf of strong brands
  • An understanding of how to build strong brands in smart and creative ways
  • Deeply organized and skilled with project management
  • Strong financial acumen — comfortable building and manipulating models and using data to drive decisions
  • Skillful enough to concept and execute on major ventures and humble enough to be willing to get into the weeds

Our target salary range for this role is between $150,000 to $185,000. We do not use formal job titles internally and similarly named positions may have different compensation levels. Actual starting salary within the range will depend on various considerations, including: work experience, skills, specializations, and training. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, including both cash and equity components, competitive healthcare, as well as other employee benefits.
