About this role

About Sayari:

Sayari is the judgment infrastructure for trustworthy AI in economic security and commercial risk. The Sayari Commercial World Model resolves 11.7B+ primary-source records from 250+ jurisdictions forming the ground truth of global commerce. A Judgment Ontology, encoding over a decade of investigative tradecraft, and Superconductor, an agentic orchestration platform, deliver AI that reasons like an expert analyst, shows its work, and traces every finding to its source. Trusted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, HM Revenue & Customs, and Fortune 500 enterprises, Sayari is used by thousands of professionals across 35+ countries to secure supply chains and dismantle illicit networks. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., with offices in London, Singapore, Tokyo, and Tel Aviv.

Sayari is entering a new phase of technical scale, driven by a wave of AI-native applications and a strategic shift in our data architecture. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is a builder at heart. In this role, you will own and deliver full features end-to-end across our platform, working with graph databases, microservices, and LLM-powered workflows. You will report directly to the Director of Engineering. This is a hands-on, high-autonomy role for an engineer who loves solving complex problems and uses modern AI tools to accelerate delivery.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own Projects Delivery: Take full ownership of projects from design through production, building backend services in Go and TypeScript that power the Pilot TPRM platform. Design APIs, data models, and service interactions that are reliable, performant, and maintainable.
  • Build AI-Native Capabilities: Design and implement LLM-powered features including document processing pipelines, classification workflows, and intelligent automation. Integrate AI models into production services with proper error handling, observability, and cost awareness.
  • AI-Enhanced Engineering: Act as a force multiplier by using modern AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, and problem-solving. Treat AI as a core part of your engineering workflow, not an afterthought.
  • Strengthen Engineering Practices: Contribute to code quality through thorough code reviews, meaningful test coverage, and clear technical documentation. Help establish patterns that make the team faster and more reliable.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Strong production experience building backend services in Go or Python. You write clean, idiomatic code and understand concurrency, error handling, and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience designing and operating microservices deployed on Kubernetes. You understand service communication patterns, health checks, and deployment strategies.
  • Experience with complex data modeling and querying, including relational or graph databases. You can design schemas that balance query performance with data integrity.
  • Proven track record of owning projects end-to-end, from technical design through deployment and production monitoring.
  • Experience building event-driven architectures or asynchronous processing pipelines.
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, and documentation.
  • Strong testing discipline, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

Preferred:

  • Experience building features that integrate with LLMs or AI APIs. You understand prompt engineering, token management, and cost-performance trade-offs.
  • Experience with graph databases (JanusGraph) or distributed data stores (Apache Cassandra, ScyllaDB).
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration engines such as Cadence or Temporal for managing long-running processes.
  • Production experience with GCP services, particularly GKE.
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Sentry, Datadog, or ElasticCloud for monitoring and debugging production services.
  • Experience with React
