We're looking for a Security Analyst to join our VA.gov Platform team, helping build and improve the identity and access management solutions that keep Veteran-facing digital products secure and compliant.

What you'll be doing:

  • Serve as the program's subject matter expert on FISMA, HIPAA, and federal security compliance requirements
  • Advise engineering and product teams on security best practices and compliance obligations throughout the development lifecycle
  • Analyze security metrics and trends to identify risks and recommend improvements
  • Support the development of security documentation, policies, and compliance artifacts
  • Participate in security assessments, audits, and ATO processes
  • Develop use cases and test cases, and participate in SIT/UAT testing with a security lens

What you’ll bring:

  • Deep knowledge of FISMA, HIPAA, and federal security compliance frameworks including NIST 800-53
  • CISSP certification strongly preferred
  • Strong background in security compliance within federal or government environments
  • Ability to operate as an independent domain expert — teams will lean on you for guidance
  • Experience participating in ATO processes, security assessments, or audits
  • Familiarity with IAM concepts is a plus
  • Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk or AWS CloudWatch is a plus
  • Thrives in a remote, collaborative Agile environment and genuinely enjoys working closely with engineers and cross-functional teams
  • Communicates clearly and openly, whether advising leadership or walking an engineer through a compliance requirement
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. In alignment with federal contract requirements, certain roles may also require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation and/or a security clearance.

Compensation:

At Oddball, it’s important each employee is compensated competitively and fairly. In alignment with state legal requirements. A range for the included position is listed below. Be advised, actual offer details are determined by job category, job location, and candidate skill level.

United States Wage Range: $90,000 – $125,000
