The Opportunity 

Cala Health is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist (Contractor) to join our growing team. This individual will act as a professional representative of our organization. We are seeking a positive, highly motivated specialist to join our team remotely. In this position, employees will be responsible for reviewing documentation for medical necessity and submission of said documentation. This is a remote role that will report to the Director, Revenue Cycle Management.

The compensation range for this role is market driven, with an hourly range of $31 to $50 per hour. 

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Cala will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

 The Opportunity: A Day in the Life 

  • Responsible for answering phone calls and emails in a timely manner. Answer all questions from any client, insurances, or patient professionally and knowledgeably.
  • Note all communications expediently.
  • Review patient documentation for accuracy and qualification.
  • Approve and create sales orders for shipments. Review Sales Orders for accuracy.
  • Manage shipments by sending sales orders to ship when ready for delivery.
  • Review Sales orders for accuracy after shipment is completed. Create claim and/or invoice by confirming sales order.
  • Bill Claims and/or invoices by electronic, paper, or charging credit card.
  • Monitor Patient billing module. Update information as needed.
  • Communicate and work with clients and cross-functional departments to identify potential risks and solutions for performance improvement.
  • Review Sales order reports. Complete reports as needed by Manager.
  • Support new and emerging business models.
  • Support company goals, objectives, and policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties, as assigned, when necessary for productivity of the Claims Department.

 Qualifications, Skills and Experience 

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Business or Finance preferred; high school or GED equivalent required
  • 3+ years of DME accounts receivable billing experience required (Medicare desired)
  • Brightree and Salesforce Software knowledge strongly preferred
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft and Google products required
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to overcome challenges and problem solve
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented and able to plan, organize and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
