Your Mission As Principal Product Manager

The Principal Product Manager for Data Management and AI owns the strategy, discovery, and delivery of Energage’s most data-intensive and intelligence-driven products. 

You will own data rationalization and data management that powers analytics across a multi-module product suite, lead the development of customer-facing AI experiences, shape platform capabilities that enable prediction, guidance, and automation, partner deeply with Data Science on machine learning models, influence platform direction, collaborate with Product Managers on analytics and data visualization, and mentor other Product Managers.

This is a senior individual contributor role with company-level impact.

Product Strategy and Vision

  • Own and evolve the long-term product vision for data management and AI capabilities aligned with Energage’s unified intelligence platform.
  • Identify new product opportunities that leverage data, analytics, and AI to deliver measurable customer and business impact.
  • Shape product strategy across multiple teams or domains through influence, not authority.
  • Clearly articulate how data management and AI initiatives support Energage’s broader platform, data, and growth strategy.

Product Discovery

  • Own end-to-end discovery for complex and zero-to-one initiatives.
  • Synthesize qualitative research, quantitative analysis, and competitive intelligence into clear problem statements and opportunities.
  • Partner deeply with Data Science, UX, and Engineering to design experiments, prototypes, and validation plans.
  • Identify emerging customer needs and market trends ahead of competitors.
  • Establish and model best practices for hypothesis-driven discovery across product teams.

 

Data Management and AI Product Leadership

  • Define customer-facing AI driven predictive experiences.
  • Partner deeply with Data Science to shape ML-powered features, including inputs, outputs, evaluation metrics, and monitoring.
  • Translate model behavior into understandable, actionable user experiences.
  • Ensure AI products are explainable, trustworthy, and aligned with data governance, privacy, and quality standards.
  • Guide tradeoffs between model sophistication, usability, and time to value.

Delivery and Execution

  • Take full ownership from the idea through post-launch impact, including iteration and optimization.
  • Lead large, cross-team initiatives that require coordination across product areas.
  • Anticipate risks and proactively adjust scope, sequencing, or approach.
  • Define clear outcomes and success metrics; track adoption, usage, and business impact.
  • Ensure solutions meet high standards for quality, performance, accessibility, security, and resilience.

Leadership and Influence

  • Serve as a mentor and thought leader within Product Management.
  • Lead through influence, aligning stakeholders across Product, Engineering, UX, Data Science, Sales, and Customer Success.
  • Foster a culture of customer centricity, experimentation, and high product standards.
  • Communicate complex ideas clearly to executives and cross-functional partners.
  • Champion continuous improvement in product practices and decision-making.

 

What You Bring to the Role:

  • 8+ years of product management experience with ownership of complex, high-impact products.
  • Deep experience building analytics-heavy products, insights, or data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience working with machine learning models in production environments.
  • Proven partnership with Data Science on model development, evaluation, and iteration.
  • Experience delivering both customer-facing tools and enabling platform capabilities.
  • SaaS experience required. HR or people data experience preferred.

Nice to haves:

  • Strong discovery and delivery skills at scale.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, technically complex problem spaces.
  • Track record of high-quality execution and iteration.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

This position has a salary range of $160,000 to $175,000 annually based on relevant experience. This position is bonus eligible.

While our employees enjoy the flexibility of daily remote work, they are also given the occasional opportunity for in person interaction.
