About this role

Overview:

We are seeking a team of Laser Engineers to build and operate a suite of optical and laser- based systems for Inertia’s fusion energy program. Working in a newly constructed set of labs, we are building a wide range of test facilities and state-of-the-art capabilities.

What you get to do:

  • Assemble, build and test precision mechanical, electrical, optical and laser systems

  • Work with the physics, controls and engineering teams to deliver high performance integrated capabilities. For example to inject and track IFE target location integrated with laser beam steering to point beam on target.

  • Support the design and operation of optical metrology and tracking test beds

  • Ensure all work is undertaken safely and efficiently

What you bring:

Required

  • MS or PhD in engineering, physics, optics, photonics, lasers or related field

  • Experience in precision laboratory environments

Preferred:

  • Experience working with optical systems in R&D environment.

  • Experience with precision alignment, characterization, and fast imaging and other photo sensors

  • Experience with integrating laser and sensors into fast response systems

Salary & Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $185,000 - $275,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and education.
