About this role

We’re hiring a Lead Electrical Inspection Technician to support the development of prototype electronic assemblies and test hardware for advanced aerospace and defense programs. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with engineering teams to inspect, test, and validate complex electrical assemblies, helping bring designs from concept to production.

You’ll collaborate across mechanical and electrical teams to ensure hardware meets quality, reliability, and manufacturability standards, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with cutting-edge hardware, troubleshooting, and influencing design improvements.

Location: Tucson, AZ (onsite)
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required; Secret clearance (active or obtainable).  Strong Preference for Active Clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test prototype electrical assemblies (cables, wire harnesses, chassis, circuit cards, electronic systems)
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, 3D models, and specifications
  • Perform troubleshooting and validation of new hardware designs
  • Support prototype builds and rapid development cycles with engineering teams
  • Conduct and support design reviews, ensuring producibility, reliability, and compliance with standards
  • Document and communicate inspection results, discrepancies, and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with engineering to improve design quality and manufacturability

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience inspecting electrical/electronic assemblies in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with cables, wire harnesses, chassis, circuit cards, or electronic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics
  • Strong hands-on experience with inspection, testing, and troubleshooting
  • U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI), Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), and DCMA audits
  • Familiarity with GD&T and mechanical inspection methods
  • Experience using inspection tools (CMMs, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators)
  • Certifications such as IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability hardware
  • Experience working with prototype or low-volume production environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Full compensation package is based on candidate experience and certifications

Pay Ranges
$62$67 USD
