Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Management & Governance professional with deep hands-on expertise in enterprise data discovery, Microsoft 365 platforms, and compliance-driven data operations.

This role requires strong technical execution capabilities (non-negotiable) in managing, locating, and governing enterprise data across systems, combined with the ability to own data control frameworks, and drive governance best practices.

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strong technical data handling (primary focus) and data governance (secondary but important), ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient management of organizational data.

What You Will Do

• Manage and govern enterprise data across Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive), Power BI, Atlassian Suite, and cloud platforms.
• Execute advanced data discovery, search, and retrieval across systems to identify, analyze, and take action on enterprise data.
• Perform data lifecycle operations including classification, preservation & remediation aligned with compliance requirements.
• Develop deep understanding of enterprise data ecosystems—where data resides, flows, and how it is accessed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to collaboration platforms and data access.
• Support investigations, audits, and regulatory requests through targeted data retrieval and analysis.
• Automate data processes and workflows using PowerShell, Script Runner, Webhooks.
• Own and drive data governance, data control, and information lifecycle management frameworks across platforms.
• Implement and manage data protection, retention, and monitoring mechanisms.
• Administer and provide oversight of Microsoft 365 compliance controls (e.g., retention, eDiscovery, permissions governance).
• Partner with Compliance, Legal, Security, and Technology teams to ensure company policy requirement
• Lead audits, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives related to data handling practices.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Data Management, Governance & M365 Controls.
• Leverage automation and AI tools to enhance data discovery, monitoring, and efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Law, Accountancy, Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
• 6–10 years of experience in data management, enterprise data search, and collaboration platforms.
• Strong hands-on expertise in:
• Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Azure AD, Power BI)
• Enterprise data discovery and search techniques
• Large-scale data repositories and structured/unstructured data handling
• Proven ability in data lifecycle management (classification, retention, remediation, deletion).
• Strong technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience with: Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence), Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence)
• Programming/Scripting :  PowerShell (preferred), Python, JavaScript or similar
• Experience in automation, APIs, or workflow tooling (Power Platform, webhooks, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in Microsoft, cloud, or compliance domains (e.g., MS-500, AZ-104, Purview, CIPP).
• Exposure to digital forensics and advanced eDiscovery workflows.
• Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools for data management.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proactive, execution-focused problem solver
• Ability to influence without authority and drive outcomes

Type of Work Model

Hybrid work model: Employees are required to work in the office at least 2 days per week, with flexibility to work from home 3 days per week (role-dependent). Some teams may require more in-office time based on business needs.
