Job Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Adult Community Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a community-based service across the West Midlands. This role involves working with adults in community care settings, including care homes and patients’ own homes, supporting individuals with a range of speech, language, and swallowing difficulties.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Band 6 or Band 7 therapist with dysphagia competencies who is confident working independently in the community. • Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders (including dysphagia).
• Deliver evidence-based interventions within community settings such as care homes and service users’ own homes.
• Manage a varied caseload independently, prioritising clinical need effectively.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, carers, and family members.
• Provide training and guidance to carers and support staff on communication strategies and safe swallowing practices.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:
• A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
• HCPC registration and membership (or eligibility) with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
