About this role

Job Title: Clinical Psychologist / Forensic Psychologist / Counselling Psychologist – Child Sexual Exploitation and NAT (Neglect, Abuse, Trauma)

Banding: Band 8a equivalent

Location: West Midlands or South Midlands (Hybrid – home and office-based, travel required across the region)

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (occasional weekend work may be required)

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing therapeutic service supporting young people affected by Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) and Neglect, Abuse, Trauma (NAT). The role focuses on improving psychological wellbeing and supporting the process of reunification with families. You’ll be delivering services across the West Midlands, working closely with local authorities and care teams to provide structured, impactful therapy and consultation.

Responsibilities:

As a key member of the Clinical Service, you will:

  • Deliver specialist psychological assessments and structured interventions to young people and families.
  • Facilitate weekly individual and group therapy sessions over 9–18 months.
  • Provide consultation and support to staff working with young people.
  • Act as a keyworker, managing care plans and coordinating multi-agency meetings.
  • Contribute to service development and culturally competent care delivery.
  • Supervise junior staff and contribute to training initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds. You should ideally have:

  • A postgraduate qualification in psychology (clinical, forensic, counselling, applied, or research)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in therapeutic services
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in health and social care settings
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children and young people
  • A valid UK driving licence (essential)
