QA Automation Engineer (Fitness sphere)

Our client is a leading U.S.-based fitness franchisor operating 2,400+ clubs worldwide. Its digital ecosystem supports both franchise operations and member experiences, including onboarding, membership management, payments, and engagement features.

Project Description

The QA Automation Engineer will contribute to the quality and reliability of our client’s backend platform, which supports high-load mobile applications through BFF and microservice-based architecture. The ecosystem includes extensive third-party integrations, cloud infrastructure, and features such as digital keytag, guided workout sessions, workout tracking, and class scheduling.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain API automated tests using Java, REST Assured, and TestNG;
• Stabilize and refactor existing autotests, reducing flakiness and improving reliability;
• Improve the automation framework, including structure, reusability, CI integration, scalability, and execution efficiency;
• Analyze CI test results, investigate failures, identify root causes, and report issues with clear evidence in Jira/Xray;

Job Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in test automation;
• Strong hands-on experience in API testing;
• Practical experience running automated tests using xcodebuild;
• Experience with API test automation in Java using REST Assured and TestNG;
• Experience maintaining and stabilizing automated tests, including flakiness reduction and reliability improvements;
• Experience optimizing automated test execution time through parallelization, suite split, or tagging strategy;
• Experience working with Jira and Xray for test management, including test cases, executions, traceability, and defect tracking;
• Experience with PR quality gates and automated checks in CI;
• English level: B2 or higher;

Nice to have

• Experience with test reporting dashboards;
• Experience executing tests on BrowserStack;
• CI experience with CircleCI, including pipeline building, stable test execution, and troubleshooting;
