About this role

Why We’re Building Village

Village Co-founder and CEO Brandon Terry's daughter Payton was born with a rare genetic condition — partially missing a chromosome critical for building essential organs. Diagnosed at 2 months old, she had 5 surgeries in her first 2 years. Brandon and his wife were told she might never walk or talk.

Payton is doing wonderfully today. But what Brandon and his family remember most isn't just the medical complexity — it's the feeling of being on their own. Great doctors, but no one helping them navigate each step of the journey. No one connecting the dots.

Tens of millions of families are living that same experience right now — navigating developmental delays, rare conditions, chronic illness, and special needs without a real partner in their corner. The more families Village meets, the more they realize this experience is not unique, but shared. There has to be a better way. This is why we're building it.

The Opportunity

Village is an AI-powered care orchestration platform for children with differences — a modern care coordination partner that helps families navigate complexity with confidence, and the practice infrastructure that lets providers focus on what they do best. We're building a product with real network effects and a scalable go-to-market, starting in LA and expanding nationally.

We just closed our second round of funding, backed by Upfront Ventures, Bling Capital, and GTMFund. The next phase is about scaling LA, proving repeatability in new markets, and building toward Series A. The expansion vectors from here are real and within reach — and this is that rare moment where the hard early work is done, the proof points are in hand, and the path to scale is wide open.

About the Role

The Community Partnerships Lead is the face and voice of Village across Southern California. This role is built around relationships — building them, deepening them, and converting them into a trusted referral network of pediatricians, educators, therapists, and other professionals who serve kids and families. You’ll spend more than half your time in the community. You own your territory end-to-end, operate with high autonomy, and drive results without a lot of hand-holding. We’re looking for a builder, not a manager of existing systems.

What You’ll Own

  • Build and execute a Southern California market strategy that drives patient referral volume through professional networks in healthcare and education

  • Own the full relationship lifecycle across a diverse portfolio of referral partners from outreach and cultivation through in-services, events, and performance accountability

  • Deliver on patient referral targets and territory goals; manage pipeline and activity in a CRM

  • Represent Village at conferences and community events; identify and activate sponsorship opportunities

  • Develop deep product and landscape fluency so you can position Village as the go-to partner for any provider serving kids

Who You Are

  • A natural relationship builder with real presence. You connect authentically with anyone from a school counselor to a hospital department chair and turn first meetings into lasting partnerships

  • Resourceful and scrappy. You write the playbook, you don’t wait for one; you find the door when you hit a wall

  • A doer with builder energy. You move fast, stay organized, and follow through without being managed; ambiguity motivates rather than stalls you

  • At home in the community. Being out in LA, showing up at practices, schools, and events is where you do your best work

  • Wired for the mission. You genuinely care about kids and families navigating healthcare complexity, and that comes through in every conversation

What We’re Looking For

  • Located in Los Angeles (required); able to spend 50%+ of your time out in the community

  • 2+ years experience in sales or business development; healthcare or education industry experience preferred

  • Existing relationships in Los Angeles with providers, educators, or other professionals who serve kids and families; a warm book of business is a significant advantage

  • Proven track record owning KPIs and hitting targets

  • CRM proficiency and a data-informed approach to managing and growing a territory

  • Startup or high-growth experience a plus
