Airwallex | China-Outbound Venture Capital Ecosystem

Role Overview

For China Venture Partnerships, you will be a key driver in setting and executing our strategic direction for growth in the market. Your primary focus will be on building and enhancing the brand image, as well as increasing market penetration through systematic commercial activities. This role requires close collaboration with startups, entrepreneurs, and key stakeholders in the PE/VC industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth and market expansion

  • Build partnerships with startups, entrepreneurs, and PE/VC/CVC firms to enhance brand presence and market influence

  • Lead and oversee systematic commercial activities to achieve business objectives
    Collaborate with the Chief Commercial Officer and other internal teams to align strategies and ensure cohesive execution

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities

  • Monitor and evaluate performance metrics to track progress and make data-driven decisions

Qualifications

  • 3+ years working in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or related fields

  • Proven experience in venture partnerships, business development, or related roles within the Chinese market

  • Strong understanding of the startup ecosystem, PE/VC landscape, and commercial activities

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills

  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset

  • Fluency in Mandarin and English
    Collaborative approach to leadership and problem solving, including proven success in attracting and developing talent

Must-Have

  • Established network within venture capital or entrepreneurial ecosystems

  • Collaborative; actively participates in startup/venture community activities
    Outgoing personality with strong communication skills

Nice-to-Have

  • Familiarity with PE/VC primary markets, incubators, or accelerators

  • Experience participating in relevant events to enhance Airwallex-hosted activities
