About this role
Overview
Provides basic patient care, assists with procedures, transports patient interdepartmentally and maintains equipment and supplies used in the GI Laboratory.
Responsibilities
The GI Laboratory Tech works under the direction of Registered Nurse. Accurately measures vital signs and applies EKG, NIBP, SaO2 monitors, reporting abnormal readings and changes in the patientβs condition to the RN. Sets up equipment in advance, assists the physician and anticipates needs during GI therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
Qualifications
Current Licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certification as an EMT-1 in the State of California or one (1) year training as a GI Laboratory Technician. Current Basic Life Support Level C (Healthcare Provider) certification. One year experience in an acute care facility.
