Mobile Diesel/Trailer Mechanic - Day Shift!

Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician in Pooler, Georgia to support 4 of our shops. The fleet is 100% Heavy-Duty Trailers & Yard Switchers or Jockeys. Looking for an expert in Cummins Diagnostic & Electrical Repair for small Diesel Engines and Trailers with Air Brakes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diesel engine and aftertreatment diagnostics, advanced electrical troubleshooting, and ABS systems. This role also requires hands-on trailer repair skills, including doors, panels, roofs, air valves, and lines. Candidates must be able to travel, work independently, and deliver high-quality, reliable repairs.

First Shift: Tuesday- Saturday 06:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Pay: $30/Hour - $35/Hour, Depending on Experience  - Paid weekly, every Friday!

Including SRT Bonus Opportunity; up to $15,000 annually; paid monthly and based on performance.

What the Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician role looks like:

• Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare the safety documentation required
• Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on the vehicle
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Non-travel weeks will be spent building Mobile Service Center trucks and completing other projects
• Working closely with Fleet Managers and Senior Fleet Managers.
• Up to 90% travel time 
• Perform other duties as required  

  What our ideal candidate looks like:

• Must have at least 3 years of experience performing yard goat or switcher and trailer maintenance.
• Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind the cab using normally available footholds and handholds.
• Must provide own hand tools
• Perform DOT inspections
• Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
• Basic computer skills
• Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
• Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise.
• Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, or other irritants
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Ability to move and position heavy objects
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl to repair vehicles
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
