About this role

Overview

Location: Fort Liberty, NC

 

Hours of Performance: Contract shall not work more than 80 hours within a two week pay period. Normal Clinic hours are 0730-1630 hours, including a one hour lunch break, which is not paid by the government. Work is subject to rotation with other MTF radiology staff. Hours are subject to change as mutually agreed between the contractor and the government. Overtime is not authorized. Shifts include:

(Shift a) 0730-1630, Weekdays (Mon-Fri)

(Shift b) 0800-1700, Weekdays (Mon-Fri)

(Shift c) 0800-1700, Weekends (Sat/Sun) and Holidays

(Shift d) 1500-2400, Weekdays (Mon-Fri), Weekends (Sat/Sun), and Holidays

(Shift e) 0001-0900, Weekdays (Mon-Fri), Weekends (Sat/Sun), and Holidays

 

Pay: $350/hr

 

Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide a full spectrum of interventional radiology services to active-duty service members, dependents, retirees, and other eligible beneficiaries at the military treatment facility.
  • Perform a wide range of minimally invasive, image-guided procedures including, but not limited to: angiography, embolization, abscess drainage, central venous access (e.g., ports, PICC lines), biopsies, stent placements, and image-guided tumor ablations.
  • Utilize imaging technologies such as fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, and MRI to guide procedures and ensure accuracy and safety.
  • Interpret diagnostic radiologic images and provide timely and comprehensive reports to referring military and civilian providers.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including primary care physicians, surgeons, oncologists, and other specialists within the military healthcare system to coordinate patient care.
  • Adhere to all clinical protocols, security policies, and administrative procedures specific to Department of Defense (DoD) healthcare operations.
  • Participate in quality assurance, case reviews, and morbidity & mortality conferences as required by the medical command.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in the military electronic medical record (e.g., AHLTA, MHS GENESIS).
  • Provide on-call coverage for interventional procedures in rotation with other radiology staff, if applicable.
  • Support training and mentorship of military medical residents, fellows, or support staff when needed.
  • Maintain all required licensure, board certifications, and credentialing for federal healthcare employment.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Education: Graduate of an accredited College of Radiology. Be a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy who has completed an internship and residency in an accredited United States Diagnostic Radiology Training Program.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Experience: Continuously employed in the practice of diagnostic radiology prior to start date of the contract as required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.
  • Board Certification: Board Certified in the Specialty of Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Licensure/Registration: This is a non-personal service contract, and the provider must be licensed in the state in which they perform.
