Responsibilities

As our IT Core Delivery Lead / Release Train Engineer (RTE), you will be responsible for orchestrating the delivery of Berkley One’s critical technology initiatives within its core applications value stream. This role is focused on end‑to‑end delivery leadership, flow, alignment, and execution.  You will operate as a transformational delivery leader, enabling predictable outcomes while continuously improving how work flows from idea to production. You will partner closely with Product, Architecture, Engineering, QA, and Business Leaders to align priorities, manage dependencies, surface risks early, and remove systemic impediments.  This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, can scale Agile practices, and is comfortable acting as the connective tissue across teams, leaders, and vendors.

We'll count on you to:

  • Lead end‑to‑end technology delivery across planning, scoping, resourcing, execution, and release, ensuring predictable and high‑quality outcomes.
  • Own and manage the delivery roadmap in close partnership with business leadership, balancing priorities, capacity, dependencies, and timelines.
  • Act as a primary delivery partner to business stakeholders, translating strategic objectives into executable plans and measurable results.
  • Drive backlog ownership and flow, facilitating prioritization, refinement, and planning ceremonies to keep teams focused on the highest‑value work.
  • Provide clear delivery forecasting, including level‑of‑effort estimates, schedule commitments, and cost tracking to ensure alignment with leadership expectations
  • Enable Agile and SAFe‑aligned delivery practices, supporting planning, execution, and continuous improvement while removing risks and impediments.
  • Leverage AI‑enabled tools and techniques to improve delivery efficiency, including accelerating planning, analysis, reporting, risk identification, and execution workflows.
  • Balance strategic initiatives with ongoing operational and maintenance demand in a fast‑changing environment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, systems, and delivery efficiency, driving pragmatic solutions that deliver real value.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships across business and IT through clear communication, transparency, and reliable execution.
  • Continuously improve delivery performance through retrospectives, metrics, and feedback‑driven process enhancements.

Qualifications

What you need to have:

  • 3+ years’ experience managing the delivery of technical solutions.
  • 5+ years’ experience in an Information Technology or consulting organization with proven experience partnering with client groups and managing multiple projects and parallel delivery streams.
  • Excellent Project Management skills, including planning, scoping, resource allocation and project tracking.   
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Experience with Agile (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) methodologies.
  • Insurance industry experience, personal lines preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills. Your communication style is flexible to the situation and audience.

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees including: • Base Salary Range: $140,000 to $165,000 • Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus • Benefits include: Health, dental, vision, dental, life, disability, wellness, paid time off, 401(k) and profit-sharing plans The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
