About this role
BDO Legal breidt haar dienstenaanbod uit met een nieuwe praktijkgroep Financial Services Regulatory Compliance. Hiervoor zoeken wij een ervaren Managing Associate die deze praktijk vanaf de start mee zal uitbouwen. Dit is een unieke kans voor een advocaat met diepgaande technische expertise, een sterk commercieel netwerk en aantoonbare ervaring in de omgang met financiële toezichthouders om een nieuwe dienstverlening strategisch vorm te geven.
What will you be doing?
Jouw rol
Als Managing Associate Financial Services Regulatory Compliance:
- Bouw je de nieuwe praktijkgroep op en ontwikkel je deze verder: je stelt het team samen, coacht en motiveert medewerkers, en zet standaarden, methodes en processen op voor een consistente dienstverlening.
- Adviseer je cliënten over complexe financiële regelgeving en begeleid je hen bij uiteenlopende juridische en compliance vraagstukken.
- Begeleid je cliënten in hun interactie met toezichthouders zoals de FSMA en de NBB: je kent het klappen van de zweep, weet wat regulatoren wel en niet appreciëren en helpt cliënten doorheen supervisietrajecten, onderzoeken of dialogen met de regelgevers.
- Vertaal je ontwikkelingen bij regulatoren naar heldere, pragmatische adviezen en oplossingen.
- Creëer je commerciële waarde voor cliënten door niet enkel compliance te waarborgen, maar ook groeikansen en organisatorische versterking te identificeren.
- Ontwikkel en onderhoud je een sterk netwerk binnen de financiële sector en identificeer je nieuwe opportuniteiten.
- Geef je opleidingen, workshops en presentaties aan cliënten en interne teams over actuele regulatoire thema’s.
Jouw expertisegebieden
Je werk zal betrekking hebben op een brede waaier aan regulatoire thema’s binnen de financiële sector, waaronder:
- Financial Crime & Integrity Risk(anti-witwas en KYC-kaders, sanctieregimes, monitoring en fraudepreventie)
- Banking & Payments Regulation(betalingsdiensten en nieuwe Europese kaders zoals PSD3, Instant Payments, digitale financiële diensten en de digitale euro)
- Investment & Asset Management Rules(UCITS-vereisten, fondsbeheer en product governance)
- Markets, Conduct & Client Protection(gedragsregels en markttransparantie, inclusief MiFID en marktmisbruikregelgeving)
- Insurance Compliance & Prudential Standards(IDD-verplichtingen, waardetoetsen, distributievereisten)
- Governance, Risk & Compliance Frameworks(fit & proper, bestuurseffectiviteit, interne controle en risk management)
- Data, Technologie & Innovatie in Financiële Diensten(privacyregelgeving, AI- en datawetgeving, nieuwe technologische compliance-uitdagingen)
What do you bring to the table?
Jouw profiel
- Minimaal 8 jaar relevante ervaring in financiële regelgeving als advocaat, met bewezen expertise in juridische én compliance vraagstukken binnen de financiële sector.
- Aantoonbare ervaring in interacties met toezichthouders (FSMA, NBB) en het begeleiden van cliënten in regulatoire trajecten.
- Perfecte kennis van het Nederlands, en zeer goede beheersing van het Frans en Engels.
- Grondige inhoudelijke kennis van relevante wetgevende kaders en governance vereisten.
- Sterk commercieel inzicht en een actief netwerk binnen de financiële sector.
- Leiderschapspotentieel met de capaciteit om een team op te bouwen, te coachen en te inspireren.
- Ondernemend, hands-on en comfortabel met het creëren van een nieuwe praktijk binnen een groeiende organisatie.
- In staat om complexe vraagstukken strategisch én pragmatisch te vertalen naar bruikbare oplossingen die echte waarde creëren voor cliënten.
