About this role

Overview

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a Clinician  to provide recovery-oriented, trauma-informed mental health services to individuals involved in housing programs. This role supports consumers in achieving stability, wellness, and independence through individualized, consumer-driven services delivered in both office and community-based settings.

 

The Clinician plays a critical role in assessments, treatment planning, service delivery, and coordination with community and internal partners, particularly those supporting housing stability and substance use recovery.

We have two full-time positions available at our Madison, IL housing site. One position will work Tuesday through Saturday from 3:00pm to 11:30pm and one will work Sunday through Thursday from 3:00pm to 11:30pm.

 

The anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $21.00 - $22.00 an hour.

 

There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education, experience, local market conditions, and internal equity.

Responsibilities

  • You’ll stay on top of the essential paperwork—like assessments and recovery plans—to make sure our clients receive the best care possible.

  • We aim to have all treatment plans and assessments ready before they’re due to ensure there are no gaps in service.

  • You’ll wrap up about 80% of your progress notes within two days of meeting with a client, keeping everyone’s records fresh and accurate.

  • Every person is unique. You’ll provide support that’s tailored specifically to each client’s individual recovery and safety goals.

  • You’ll manage a consistent schedule to meet productivity goals while ensuring every client gets the attention they deserve.

  • You’ll handle the "behind-the-scenes" details, like getting service approvals and checking on housing referrals, so our clients can access the resources they need.

  •  We use a trauma-informed approach. This means leading with hope, respect, and empowerment to help clients feel connected and supported.

  • You’ll use positive, recovery-focused language in both your written notes and your daily conversations with clients.

  • You’ll act as a bridge, linking clients to vital resources like housing and substance use treatment.

  • You’ll work closely with your teammates and the client’s own support network to create the best possible outcomes.

  • We’re in this together. You’ll attend regular meetings to brainstorm ideas, back up your teammates when they need a hand, and take on leadership opportunities as you grow.

  • You’ll use proven, evidence-based methods in your therapy sessions, whether you’re working with individuals, families, or groups.

  • Whenever possible, you’ll provide services right in the community or in environments where the client feels most comfortable.

  • We’ll help you stay sharp! You’ll complete regular trainings, earn CEUs, and participate in clinical supervision to keep your skills top-notch.

  • You’ll maintain the highest level of confidentiality, ensuring that our clients' personal information is always protected.

Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ supervised mental health experience;
  • OR a master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field with less than 1,000 hours of supervised mental health experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance and be insurable
  • Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and an electronic medical record (EMR) Effective communication with employees, consumers, potential consumers, and support systems.
  • Ability to respond effectively and calmly in conflict or emotional situations.
  • Good keyboarding skills.
  • Data entry experience – preferably with an electronic health record or electronic billing system.
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures and use of office equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, private automobile insurance, and be insurance
