Overview
The Speech and Language Pathologist- Clinical Fellow (CF) will be able to provide services to both the Ambulatory Care Network Clinic patients and BronxCare Health System in-patients over the course of the Clinical Fellowship Year. The CF will report directly to the Director of Speech-Language Pathology. Consultation services will be provided upon request to all other departments within BronxCare Health System. Services will be provided to persons of all ages with communication and/or dysphagia disorders, with increasing independence and responsibilities over the course of the CFY, per SLP Director’s discretion and with supervision.
Responsibilities
-Evaluation and treatment of the following disorders (at the discretion of the SLP Director): a. Speech disorders (e.g. articulation, fluency, voice). b. Cognitive/communication speech and language disorders 1. child language disorders (e.g. neurodevelopmental disorders; autism; intellectual disabilities; learning disabilities. c. Oral-pharyngeal function (e.g. dysphagia/swallowing and related disorders).
-Assess, selects and develops augmentative and alternative communication systems and provides training in their use.
-Provide evaluation of dysphagia patients using FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Eval Swallow) and provides MBS (Modified Barium Swallow) testing, at the discretion of the SLP Director.
-Assumes responsibility for in-service training and program development at the discretion of the SLP Director.

Qualifications
-Master’s Degree in SLP, bilingual preferred, adult and pediatric experience preferred.
