Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Commonspirit Medical Group - Family Medicine - North River, you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns.To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.

  • Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
  • Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
  • May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate or High School GED 
  • May require specialized training, such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician
  • Certified Medical Assistant AAMA
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
  • Certified Medical Assistant NHA
  • National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT
  • National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP
  • Registered Medical Assistant AMT
  • Registered Medical Assistant
  • Cert Med Asst - MMCI
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Preferred

  • Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course or Exam 
  • Two (2) years Medical Assistant experience
  • Electronic health record experience
