Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where we provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through our state-of-the-art medical campus and home base for Flight For Life® Colorado. With four trauma rooms including the T-10 room, a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams, our staff can provide life-saving care to the most severely ill and injured patients.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Qualified external applicants with at least six months of direct RN experience are eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus!* If you live greater than 50 miles from this facility, you may be eligible for relocation assistance up to $10,000.

  • The schedule for this position is three 12-hour shifts per week and rotating weekends(7am-7pm)

 

6th Floor Med/Surg Unit Description: 

The 6th Floor Acute Care Unit at St. Anthony Hospital is a dynamic, 36-bed Magnet®-designated unit with a clinical speciality on trauma and oncology care. Our team specializes in treating patients with blunt abdominal, chest, and orthopedic injuries—often resulting from motor vehicle accidents, falls, and outdoor activities common to our region.  We also provide comprehensive care for oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration and management of neutropenic conditions, which currently represent approximately 10% of our patient population. Our mission is to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for:

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following:

 

Education Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs

Experience Requirements

  • One year experience preferred
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

Licenses/Certification Requirements

  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact

Physical Requirements 

  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
