Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Cardiac Sonographer, you will help patients and clinicians accurately diagnose and manage cardiac conditions so they can receive effective and timely medical care within the Pacific Central Coast Health Centers healthcare philosophy.

 

Every day, you will perform a variety of technically proficient ultrasound procedures. You will be expected to position and instruct patients, operate ultrasound equipment, determine technical factors, ensure correct image marking and labeling, and provide adequate documentation for diagnostic purposes.

 

To be successful in this role, you must possess exceptional technical proficiency in cardiac ultrasound procedures, demonstrate ingenuity and initiative in diagnostic imaging, and have the ability to train other staff members in procedures requiring independent judgment.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Three (3) years experience performing Ultrasound procedures in an outpatient facility if not RDMS

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo (RDCSAE) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)

  • Demonstrates knowledge in both general and cross-sectional anatomy and physiology. Must have working knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures. Must also know departmental protocols and procedures. Ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members, physicians and the patient population. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Self-motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills. Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team-oriented environment.
