Dignity Health Medical Group – North State a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation is a multi-specialty clinic with eleven locations in Redding and Red Bluff. Along with our local affiliated Dignity Health hospitals (Mercy Medical Center – Mt. Shasta Mercy Medical Center – Redding and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital) we offer an integrated care delivery system that provides high quality compassionate care in family medicine, internal medicine, OB/GYN, cardiology, neuro-interventional, general surgery, endovascular surgery, endocrinology, ENT, colorectal surgery, thoracic surgery and orthopedic surgery including general total joints and spine.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you will ensure smooth daily operations for your patients and the medical team. You can expect to support multiple patients daily, depending on physician availability.Every day, you will proactively prepare patient charts, assist with patients exams or procedure and relay physician instructions, administer physician-directed medication and perform accurate vital sign measurements, manage medical records (charts and EMR), communicate patient concerns to providers, and collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills.. To be successful in this role, you must have an enthusiasm to help others and the ability to work efficiently and provide empathy for our patients.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School GED or High School Graduate
• Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by Dignity Health Medical Foundation H.R. department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions) required
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred

• Six (6) month's experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant
