Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Mental Health Tech, you will be vital support for Behavioral Health's front and back office functions, assisting psychiatrists, patients, and the care management team. You'll ensure smooth operations, quality medication management, and clinical problem-solving.Every day you will provide basic medication triage, support services, and take vital signs for behavioral health patients. You'll manage front office reception, patient registration, insurance/copay processing, and telephones, while also handling back office tasks like refill requests, injections, and accurate EHR documentation.To be successful, you need strong multitasking, meticulous attention to detail, and a rapid ability to learn complex information accurately. Exceptional customer service, calm under pressure, EHR proficiency, and strict confidentiality are essential, along with flexibility to float.

  • Assist with patient/family care needs from admission to discharge.
  • Monitor patient on Q15 min. observations including (Q5, LOS, and 1:1 obs.)
  • Accurately monitor and record patient VS and intake and output and daily activities, including patio breaks.
  • Assist Nurses with patient care to include Groups, Activities of daily living, as needed
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with patients in crisis situations and assist RNs with restraining patients
  • Assist in maintaining adequate stocks and supplies items.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Minimum of one (1) year mental healthworker experience working with psychiatric patients either in an inpatient or residential setting
  • AHA Basic Life Support - CPR
  • Fire Safety, within 90 Days

Preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of acute patient care experience
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: CA
  • Emergency Medical Technician: CA
