Bakersfield Memorial Hospital includes 385 general acute beds, 48 licensed critical care beds, 13 state-of-the-art surgical suites, and a full-service Emergency Department with an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Nationally Certified Stroke Center. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Nursing Practice Specialist, you are expected to perform duties in alignment with the mission and policies of the organization. The qualified candidate will provide support and direction for patient management and standards for quality patient care and will be a perioperative clinical resource and role-model.
Every day you will, plan, direct, manage/ conduct and evaluate educational activities in the Surgical Services area, and program which include general nursing mandatory education and nursing orientation
To be successful in this position, you need to be able to perform duties in support of and in compliance with the performance improvement plan, TJC and other licensing, accrediting and regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining current knowledge of SCIP, HOP, AORN and AAMI standards.
- Updates department and hospital-wide policies and procedures to reflect current nursing practice guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements
Required:
CA RN, BLS (AHA) certificate required
Minimum of five (5) years operating room experience
Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications
Preferred:
Three (3) years of experience in education and staff development preferred
CNOR, CCRN or CPAN Preferred.
Bachelors degree in nursing or related field preferred.
Previous experience in educational program development and implementation preferred
