Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Manager, Nursing Surgery, you will help our nursing staff and surgical team deliver exceptional patient care and optimize clinical operations within the surgical department so they can ensure positive patient outcomes, maintain high standards of safety, and foster a continuous learning environment.
Every day you will manage the resources and daily activities of the surgical nursing department, ensuring that environmental factors and operational processes consistently support the highest standards of patient care. You will be expected to coordinate all unit activities for each shift, effectively direct, organize, and assign work to the nursing staff, and actively participate in the training and development of team members.
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and clinical management skills to effectively oversee surgical nursing operations and staff development with this information:
- Manages the resources and daily activities of a nursing department while ensuring environmental factors support high standards of patient care.
- Assists in the training and development of new and existing staff members.
- Creates and maintains an environment that is conducive to learning transfer.
- Coordinates the activities of the unit for each shift and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff.
- Provides patient care as needed.
Job Requirements
Required
- Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and one (1) year of leadership experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience
- ]Magnet Hospital: BSN required
Active RN license in good standing with the Nevada State Board of Nursing
Basic Life Support Certification-American Heart Association-AHA
