Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Driver, you will safely and courteously transport seniors and mobility-impaired persons, and/or deliver bulk and Home Delivered Meals, adhering to our facility guidelines. Every day you will conduct daily vehicle inspections, maintain sanitation, report repairs, and efficiently fulfill daily assignments under direct supervision.To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate commitment to safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer service, with strong attention to detail for vehicle maintenance and regulatory compliance.

  • Drives vehicle from facility to shopping, doctor's office, place of worship or other destination according to assigned schedule.
  • Assists passengers into and out of vehicle.
  • Operates radio, cell phone or similar device to communicate with facility or other vehicles to report disruption of service. Updates residents, etc, as needed.
  • Makes extended trips requiring irregular hours.
  • Picks up residents in response to radio or telephone relayed request for service.
  • Assists passengers with purchases.
  • Ensures sufficient number of walkers are available in vehicle.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current and valid CA Commercial Class B driver's license with Passenger Endorsement - required if driving a passenger transportation vehicle designed to carry more than 10 passengers, including driver.

  • First Aid, within 90 Days
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively with residents and staff.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic math skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate good judgment and problem solving skills.
