Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta is a member of the Dignity Health system of health care providers and is a not-for-profit medical facility. We are designated as a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital and are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care Organizations. In addition to our acute care hospital we also own and operate three Rural Health Clinics providing walk-in immediate care as well as scheduled appointments for routine medical needs.We are located in the northernmost area of California and are part of a network of care, including Mercy Medical Center Redding and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff. Job Summary and Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Speech Pathologist participates as a member of the health care team working with professional non-professional staff and associated professionals in providing care which provides optimum home care and continuity of care to referred patients addressing the age of the patients served.
Job Requirements
**Offering a 4,000 Sign-on Bonus and/or Relocation Allowance for qualified applicants
Minimum Qualifications:
- Long-term care experience
- 1 year experience as a speech therapist
- Current licensure by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance as a speech and language pathologist
- Current BLS CPR certification (Must be through the American Heart Association)
- Knowledge and ability to perform a speech pathology assessment and evaluation
- Knowledge of principles, concepts, diagnostic, and therapeutic techniques for speech therapy
- Ability to implement practical application of knowledge
- Ability to function independently and autonomously
- Ability to communicate in writing and verbally in English
- Ability to teach and instruct patient family and staff
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 months to one year home health experience
