Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Must have strong skills in Microsoft platforms, CSV files, Excel, Microsoft Access. Must be comfortable in multiple software platforms (Sage, Resman, AVID, Single Point, Quick Books)2. Prepare and analyze monthly GAAP financial reports and prepare budget variance analysis. *3. Respond professionally to owners, investors, and agency inquiries and requests. *4. Assist the VP of Finance & Accounting to maintain the integrity and security of financial records by supporting established internal control procedures. *5. Assist the VP of Finance & Accounting in supporting the ongoing development of SOP’s. *6. Manage the monthly Treasury activities, including setting up new accounts, ordering deposit books, writing up bank transfers, and reconciling bank accounts. *7. Assist with quarterly and annual accounting reports to owners, investors, and regulators. *8. Oversight in calculating or approving management fees. *9. Assists the VP of Finance & Accounting is various Financial Analysis Reports for Cascade. *10. Oversite of the monthly mortgage processing. *11. Assist in calculating Annual Insurance premiums billed to properties. *12. Assist the VP of Finance & Accounting in the preparation of Cascade Financials. *13. Assists in the Budget processes for both Properties and Cascade. *14. Data Conversion support between programs and accounting platforms (CSV, Excel, Microsoft Access)15. Make recommendations to the VP of Finance & Accounting for improvement of department policies, procedures and practices. *16. Work closely with VP of Finance & Accounting, IT and Resman Conversion Team to provide accounting data to be converted to Resman. Additionally Review data in Resman prior to properties going “live” to ensure accuracy of data. * 17. Work with Portfolio Managers, Accountants, Rent Journalist, and site managers to ensure Resman is functioning properly after conversion and aid as needed. *18. Participate in weekly meetings to facilitate and support the smooth functioning of the Accounting Department. * *Essential Duties

Supervisor Responsibilities

May supervise up to 4 positions at a time.

 

Education and/or Education

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S) in accounting with four (4) years of practical accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Mathematical Skills 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

A Valid Driver’s License and insurance is required.

 

Other Qualifications

Ability to operate basic office equipment such as telephones, typewriters, 10 key, photocopier, and fax machine.
