Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Powder Coat Painter/Blaster applies powder coat paint to products using a manual spray gun and automated coating system, maintaining required paint thickness and ensuring high quality finishes.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Coating manufactured parts consistent with powder coat paint to customer and internal quality requirements
  • Inspecting material from fabrication shop
  • Operating all coating equipment including manual spray guns, hopper's, and booth collection systems
  • Using the paint line efficiently with minimal stoppages and gaps
  • Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
  • Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  • Knowledge of powder paint characteristics and application, the operation and repair of painting equipment, and material preparation
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Team orientation
  • Crane operation experience preferred but not required
  • Forklift operation experience preferred but not required
  • Big Joe operation experience preferred but not required

ADA Requirements:

  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes. 

 

Job Conditions: 

  • The worker is subject to: inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • The worker is subject to: hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • The worker is required to: function in narrow aisles or passageways.
