About this role

Overview

Do you want to work for a caring organisation that believes in people?

Do you want to make a difference?

As a Specialist Recovery Worker supporting the SWITCH workstreams, you will work with individuals in local communities to improve services and achieve positive outcomes for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing stable housing. This includes those who are street homeless, living in temporary accommodation, or facing other housing challenges.

You will support disadvantaged non-UK nationals who may have experienced trauma, substance misuse, or other barriers that affect their ability to secure and sustain housing.

Many individuals may also be subject to varying immigration criteria, which can influence the support available to them. Your approach will be trauma-informed, recognising peoples lived experiences and promoting safety, trust, and empowerment.

Support will be culturally sensitive and tailored, taking into account the needs of minorities within our diverse local communities.

You will provide culturally sensitive one-to-one interventions and recovery planning for non-UK nationals affected by substance misuse, recognising the unique challenges they face, including cultural differences, language barriers, stigma, and limited social networks. In this role, you will act as a key navigator for these interventions, advocating on behalf of service users and supporting their engagement with local services.
