Capital Union Bank (CUB) is an independent financial institution, incorporated and headquartered in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. CUB was founded in 2013 by a group of renowned financiers and entrepreneurs who have dedicated their careers to providing first- class, innovative solutions to the capital markets and wealth management industry.

Тhe role:  

We are looking for someone with a strong software engineering foundation who can work independently, explain technical decisions clearly, organize delivery, and support other engineers when needed.

You will work on back-end services, system integrations, and microservices used in a financial environment. This is a hands-on engineering role with responsibility for technical design, delivery, production reliability, and communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain back-end services and APIs using C# and .NET.
• Develop and maintain integrations between internal systems, external platforms, and third-party services.
• Design and implement microservices with clear service boundaries, reliable communication, and appropriate failure handling.
• Work with REST APIs, asynchronous messaging, event-driven workflows, and data-processing pipelines.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, technical planning, and solution design.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments in Azure DevOps.
• Package and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Work with infrastructure and security teams on cloud environments, access controls, monitoring, disaster recovery, and production readiness.
• Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
• Review code and help maintain engineering standards across the team.
• Communicate directly with the client about requirements, technical risks, delivery progress, and trade-offs.
• Support planning and coordination across engineering, QA, product, infrastructure, and security teams.
• Evaluate where AI-assisted development, automation, or data engineering practices can improve the solution or delivery process.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong production experience with C# and .NET
• Hands-on experience with microservices, distributed systems, APIs, messaging, and integrations
• Solid understanding of retries, idempotency, data consistency, observability, resilience, and failure handling
• Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, or similar relational databases
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, and preferably Kubernetes
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, and secure API design
• Ability to own delivery, explain trade-offs, identify risks, and communicate directly with clients
